Vulcan has been awarded the Best Mining Project of the Year 2026 at the 12th edition of the Mozambique Mining and Energy Conference and Exhibition (MMEC 2026), held on 6 and 7 May at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre in Maputo.
At a time marked by strengthened social and health responses in local communities, Vulcan Mozambique has taken another decisive step toward improving the quality of life of the population in Moatize District, with the handover of three new potable water supply systems. These were officially inaugurated by the Governor of Tete Province, Domingos Juliasse Viola, on February 20. The initiative reinforces access to water as one of the company’s key pillars of social investment, promoting dignity, public health, and sustainable development.
On 29 January, Vulcan delivered more than 100 tonnes of food and essential goods to the Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Mozambique, as part of humanitarian support for the victims of the floods that affected more than 650,000 people in various regions of the country.
As part of the Programme to Support Agriculture, Food and Nutritional Security Development Programme, Vulcan delivered inputs and production tools to 3,638 families in the communities of Cateme, Cateme Sede, M'phandue, Ntchenga, Nhamitsatsi, Cancope, Inhalenga, Calenga, Nhambalualu and in the neighbourhoods of the city of Moatize.

The Secretary of State in Tete Province, Cristina Mafumo, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the construction works of the new resettlement neighborhood in Nhamitsatsi, which is in its final phase. The project, budgeted at US$20 million, includes the construction of about 200 houses for an equal number of families, and is being carried out by Vulcan as part of the expansion of its operations in Moatize, which provides for the relocation of the communities of Ntchenga and Mpandwe.
Vulcan was recognized during the Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair held on September 19, in the city of Tete, as the organization that recruited the highest number of pre-professional interns in 2024.
Vulcan was awarded 1st place in the Megaprojects category and named Best Investor in the Mining and Energy Sector in Mozambique, honors received on August 25 during the official opening of the 60th edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM 2025).
On 18 July, Vulcan delivered vehicles to the Polícia da República de Moçambique (PRM), at a ceremony held in the city of Tete and led by the Minister of the Interior, Paulo Chachine. In total, there are two ‘Mahindra’ vehicles, zero kilometres, fully equipped and characterised, designed to strengthen the corporation's operational capacity, especially in public patrols. The aim is to contribute to more effective action in maintaining public order and tranquillity in the communities.
