The district of Moatize took a historic step on 3 October, when it hosted the laying of the foundation stone for the upgrading of the Moatize Health Centre into a District Hospital, as part of the Presidential initiative ‘One District - One Hospital’. The event, led by the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, marks an important moment for improving the region's health infrastructure.
On 20 September, Vulcan reaffirmed its commitment to the development and well-being of the communities around its operations with the delivery of two new drinking water supply systems in Bairro 1º de Maio, in Moatize. The initiative will directly benefit more than 10,000 inhabitants of the region.
On September, Vulcan launched the Community Participation Support Project, with the delivery of 61 means of transport, including eleven motorbikes and fifty bicycles, to strengthen the mobility of local leaders in the municipality's eight neighbourhoods. The aim is to ensure greater efficiency in meeting the needs of residents and to make it easier for community authorities to travel.

Under the slogan "Her place is at school", Vulcan launched the Girl's Retention at School Project in the first half of August, which aims to support more than 100 vulnerable girls attending secondary school in Moatize so that they can complete their studies.
Under the motto “Industrialization: Innovation and Diversification of the National Economy", Vulcan and Nacala Logistics participate, between the 26th of August and the 1st of September, in the 59th edition of FACIM (Maputo International Fair), which takes place at the International Center of Ricatla Fairs and Exhibitions, in Marracuene, Maputo province.
As part of its social responsibility actions, Vulcan implemented a community initiative for recycling discarded materials within its operations, where more than 20 young artisans from Moatize trained by Vulcan work.
Vulcan, through its Horticultural Value Chain Project, continues to positively impact the lives of local farmers through investments and support throughout the production chain, implementation and equipping of an input store to boost the supply of improved seeds and production instruments, training and technical assistance with greater emphasis on tomato, cabbage, onion, lettuce, pepper and okra crops, among others.
As part of the participatory mapping of development opportunities for the benefit of local communities, Vulcan selected and trained more than 45 girls from the eight neighbourhoods of Moatize in a hairdressing course that included notions of entrepreneurship.
