Vulcan distributes more bicycles to facilitate mobility of the communities of Moatize

Under the mobility project “Vai de Bike”, which aims to shorten distances and create greater proximity between communities in Moatize, Vulcan held last March 6, the delivery of more than 100 bicycles to members belonging to the assisted compensation group (community that in the resettlement process opted to receive compensation through the purchase of houses).

During the event, were present the administrator of the Moatize district, Eugénio Muchanga, representatives of Vulcan, as well as the beneficiary communities, who encouraged Vulcan to implement more initiatives that promote local development.

“The bicycles will make our lives easier, as we will now be able to go to the market and other places more quickly. We are glad that they remembered us and we hope that Vulcan will not stop supporting us,” pointed out the president of the assisted compensation committee, Baptista Saica Roia.

In his turn, the administrator of the Moatize district, Eugénio Muchanga, appealed to the beneficiary families to guarantee the durability of the means donated by Vulcan.

With this delivery, a total of 2700 bicycles have been delivered since the beginning of the project (2020), and have already benefited more than nine communities in Moatize. With bicycles, spare parts kits are also provided to ensure a greater longevity of this means of transport.
