Vulcan Strengthens Water Supply in Moatize and Expands Access to Water for More Than 70,000 People
At a time marked by strengthened social and health responses in local communities, Vulcan Mozambique has taken another decisive step toward improving the quality of life of the population in Moatize District, with the handover of three new potable water supply systems. These were officially inaugurated by the Governor of Tete Province, Domingos Juliasse Viola, on February 20. The initiative reinforces access to water as one of the company’s key pillars of social investment, promoting dignity, public health, and sustainable development.
Vulcan delivers more than 100 tons of donations to the Office of the First Lady to support flood victims
On 29 January, Vulcan delivered more than 100 tonnes of food and essential goods to the Office of the First Lady of the Republic of Mozambique, as part of humanitarian support for the victims of the floods that affected more than 650,000 people in various regions of the country.
Vulcan reinforces support for agricultural development and food security in Moatize
As part of the Programme to Support Agriculture, Food and Nutritional Security Development Programme, Vulcan delivered inputs and production tools to 3,638 families in the communities of Cateme, Cateme Sede, M'phandue, Ntchenga, Nhamitsatsi, Cancope, Inhalenga, Calenga, Nhambalualu and in the neighbourhoods of the city of Moatize.
Secretary of State satisfied with the progress of the works of the new resettlement of the communities
The Secretary of State in Tete Province, Cristina Mafumo, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the construction works of the new resettlement neighborhood in Nhamitsatsi, which is in its final phase. The project, budgeted at US$20 million, includes the construction of about 200 houses for an equal number of families, and is being carried out by Vulcan as part of the expansion of its operations in Moatize, which provides for the relocation of the communities of Ntchenga and Mpandwe.
