Vulcan Recognized as the Leading Megaproject at FACIM 2025

Vulcan was awarded 1st place in the Megaprojects category and named Best Investor in the Mining and Energy Sector in Mozambique, honors received on August 25 during the official opening of the 60th edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM 2025).

This recognition highlights the impact of our investment in the 300 MW Thermal Power Plant in Moatize (Waste to Energy Project)—an innovative venture that will transform more than 20 million tons of coal waste into electricity, strengthening national energy security and creating value for Mozambique and the wider region.

The official opening of the event was also marked by the visit of the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Daniel Chapo, to the joint Vulcan and Nacala Logistics stand. The Head of State was welcomed by our CEO, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, with whom he discussed key ongoing strategic projects, including the Moatize Thermal Power Plant.

The presence of the President at our stand was a moment of great prestige, symbolizing the recognition of Vulcan’s contribution to the country’s energy and industrial development.

Through this project and other ongoing initiatives, Vulcan reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable transformation of Mozambique, contributing to a more modern, secure, and competitive future.

FACIM 2025, held from August 25 to 31 in Marracuene, Maputo Province, remains the country’s largest trade fair, bringing together national and international companies, fostering partnerships, and driving Mozambique’s economic development.
