On 19 September, Vulcan held the official launch ceremony for the Road Safety Campaign under the slogan ‘For safer motorcycling’. The event began with a ride from the Moatize Hotel to Moatize Children’s Park, bringing together motorbike taxi drivers and the general public for a morning dedicated to raising awareness of road safety.

Following the ride, a ceremony was held to present driving licences, celebrating those who had completed their training; the ceremony was presided over by the Secretary of State for Tete Province, Cristina de Jesus Xavier Mafumo.

During the event, three new driver training programmes were also launched, which will benefit more than 400 young people in the town of Moatize. These are the Operator Training Programme, the Motorcycle Licence Programme for Motorcycle Taxi Drivers and the second phase of the Car Driving Licence Programme.
