Vulcan finances air transportation for Moçambola 2026 teams through partnership with LMF and LAM

Vulcan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mozambican Football League (LMF) and Mozambique Airlines (LAM) to support the organisation of Moçambola, the country’s premier football competition. The one-year agreement provides funding for the air transportation of teams throughout the championship, contributing to more efficient competition management and the strengthening of Mozambican football.

The initiative reinforces Vulcan’s commitment to Mozambique’s social and sustainable development through support for projects that promote sports, education, health, community development and improved livelihoods.

During the signing ceremony, Vulcan CEO, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, highlighted that the support to Moçambola represents another step in the company’s strategy to contribute to the country’s development through sports.

“At Vulcan, we have three priority areas where we want to contribute to building the country: sports, education and health. In sports, we have been doing our best to promote the discipline. In recent years, we have supported the National Football Team, the Mambas, and when we were informed that the League needed financial support, we saw this as an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to sports.”

Mukesh Kumar added that the true value of this partnership lies in its impact on the development of national football, encouraging more companies to support sports in Mozambique.

For his part, LAM Financial Director Lucas Francisco stated that the partnership represents an important contribution to the restructuring process of the national airline, strengthening its capacity to provide transportation for teams throughout the competition.

The President of the Mozambican Football League, Alberto Simango Júnior, praised Vulcan’s role in making the championship possible, noting that the support will allow Moçambola 2026 to proceed without financial constraints.

“Vulcan provided exactly what we requested to ensure the championship could be completed. This support will guarantee that the competition runs smoothly. Football is grateful, and so are the 14 clubs.”

By financing air transportation for participating teams, Vulcan contributes to improving club mobility, reducing logistical challenges associated with the competition and creating better conditions for the organisation of the country’s main football tournament.

This partnership reaffirms Vulcan’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote Mozambique’s socio-economic development and strengthen high-impact sectors for society, such as national sports.
