The support included basic food products, such as rice, maize flour, sugar, beans, and peanuts, as well as 120 thousand liters of drinking water, cooking oil, juices, and other essential goods. The award ceremony was chaired by the First Lady of the Republic, Gueta Chapo, and was attended by Vulcan’s CEO, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, as well as company representatives. The initiative aims to strengthen the government’s efforts to mitigate the effects of floods and provide direct support to affected populations.

On the occasion, Dr. Mukesh Kumar highlighted the importance of institutional solidarity in times of crisis.
All organizations operating in Mozambique must be united in supporting the Government and the affected populations. Whether through food support, clean water, medical assistance, or evacuation, it is essential to be close to the government of Mozambique and communities. Vulcan is proud to stand by the Mozambican people whenever the country faces challenges of this nature,” said Dr. Mukesh Kumar.

In turn, the First Lady of the Republic thanked the company’s gesture, underlining its humanitarian impact.
This gesture of solidarity represents hope, care and commitment to human life. The floods and floods have left deep scars on our communities, making it essential to continue walking together, ensuring the basic needs of the affected families, and creating conditions for the return to normal life,” said Gueta Chapo.

With this action, Vulcan reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of populations and to supporting state-led initiatives in response to humanitarian crises, reinforcing its role as an active partner in social development and the promotion of human dignity.
