Vulcan was recognised during the opening ceremony of the 61st edition of the Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM 2026), receiving two awards: Largest Exporter to India and Largest Investor in the Energy Sector.

With the full support of Vulcan, the delegation representing the province of Tete at the 16th National School Sports Festival, which will take place in Inhambane between 29 August and 6 September 2026, set off last Tuesday, 25 August, from the city of Tete, bound for Inhambane.

On July 30, Vulcan welcomed community leaders from neighboring neighborhoods, who are members of the Participatory Operations Management Committee—for a follow-up visit to observe its operations.

Vulcan launched the third phase of the Family Poultry Farming Project on 20 July in Moatize District, Tete Province, an initiative aimed at promoting food security, encouraging self-employment and strengthening the economic empowerment of beneficiary families. Implemented under the motto “Promoting self-employment and sustainable family income”, the project benefits 60 citizens in this phase.

Vulcan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mozambican Football League (LMF) and Mozambique Airlines (LAM) to support the organisation of Moçambola, the country’s premier football competition. The one-year agreement provides funding for the air transportation of teams throughout the championship, contributing to more efficient competition management and the strengthening of Mozambican football.

On 22 and 23 July, Vulcan welcomed the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Estevão Pale, and his delegation to the Moatize Coal Mine. The visit aimed to assess the progress of the company’s operations and gain first-hand insight into some of its key strategic and community development projects.

On 27 June, Vulcan participated in the 6th Graduation Ceremony of the Higher University Institute of Tete (ISUTE), part of the Polytechnic University. The event was attended by the Secretary of State for Tete Province, Cristina de Jesus Xavier Mafumo, and featured Vulcan’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, as the Guest of Honour.
