On 8 October, the communities of Ntchenga and Mpandue, in Moatize, entered a new phase with the official handover of the Nhamitsatsi resettlement village, at a ceremony presided over by the President of the Republic, Daniel Francisco Chapo.

During his visit, the Head of State toured the new settlement and inspected the main social infrastructure, including the primary school, equipped with a modern computer room, the police station and the health centre.

The ceremony also featured the handover of vehicles, an ambulance and a police car, intended to strengthen the response capacity of essential services and improve support for local communities.

More than just new homes, Nhamitsatsi represents a commitment to the comfort, safety and dignity of the resettled families. Access to essential infrastructure and services, such as healthcare, education, security and water supply, is an important step towards improving living conditions.
