Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Visits Vulcan’s Operations and Social Projects in Moatize

On 22 and 23 July, Vulcan welcomed the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Estevão Pale, and his delegation to the Moatize Coal Mine. The visit aimed to assess the progress of the company’s operations and gain first-hand insight into some of its key strategic and community development projects.

On the first day, the Minister inaugurated Mozambique’s first fully electric mine, located in Section 3. This milestone reinforces Vulcan’s commitment to innovation, operational excellence and sustainability in the mining sector.

On the second day, the delegation visited the community development projects supported by the company and toured Vulcan’s mining operations, with particular focus on the Thermal Power Plant Project, a strategic infrastructure initiative that will strengthen the company’s mining operations.

The visit reaffirmed Vulcan’s commitment to responsible mining and to promoting Mozambique’s economic and social development through investments that create lasting value for local communities and contribute to the country’s sustainable growth.
